Eoin Ryan, Non-executive Director

Eoin has a lengthy career in public service. Most recently, he served as a director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he was chair of the European Union Committee.

Prior to working for the ERBD, Eoin was a member of the European Parliament for Dublin from 2004-2009, where he was a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee. He was a Teachta Dala (TD), member of the Irish Parliament, for Dublin South-East from 1992-2007. He chaired both the Justice and Transportation Committees.

Prior to his election to Dail Eireann, he served as a senator in the Seanad Eireann. During his time as a member of Government, he served as Minister of State for Tourism, Sport and Recreation. He began his political career as a member of Dublin City Council in 1985.

Through his work with the EBRD, Eoin has also done extensive travel monitoring elections and HIV programmes in South Africa, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Eoin was born in Dublin and educated at St. Mary's College, Rathmines; College of Commerce, Rathmines; and Kildalton Horticulture College, County Kilkenny.
